a wall and a walk
well, now i've gone and done it. i was hanging up 'march' from jess gonacha's beautiful 2009 calendar and decided that i wanted to see everything all at once, so i collaged one of my kitchen walls with her calendar patterns and a few of her prints. and i love it. i have a weakness for collaging walls. it started with my grandmother, who went into one of her 'garbage moods' back in the seventies and decoupaged her entire front hallway in paperback covers from psychology books. (lots of other stories to tell there, as you can imagine.) so since then i've covered walls and bulletin boards with my postcards, letters, pictures, and other memories in nearly every place i've lived. last week i saw an ultracool patchwork patterned wall on ninainvorm (it's on the right sidebar, close to the bottom) and i think that's what prompted me to start cutting up jess's fabulous prints.
with that out of my system, this morning artsygirl and i went exploring, journaling, window shopping, and got our chocolate fix at au marché (a chocolate bunny for her and nutella for me). now i've been roped into a game of trouble and after that i'm going to start two projects - one involves a chair and the other lots of patterns. by the way, i totally enjoyed the commentary on the marshmallow peeps - that topic appears to be even more divisive than politics!
