no time to waste

this little drawing sat for a few weeks until i could find the right words for it. i love that moment when an idea arrives - my mood changes, my pulse quickens, and i feel compelled to abandon everything i'm doing to chase it. even if i don't ultimately do something with that idea or can't fly away on impulse that very second to pursue it, the change of perspective it brings is sometimes enough on its own. thereza gets the credit here for 'the big idea' phrase, as many of her posts are based on her projects and she often describes herself wandering around waiting for that big idea to arrive. today is a cold, windy, rainy and soon-to-be-icy one, which oddly enough sounds good to me - now i have an excuse for staying inside in my pajamas with my coffee and wishing for one of heather's cinnamon rolls. hope a few ideas will arrive while i'm hibernating :)

I can relate to this so much! I have these ideas floating in my mind but sometimes my heart is not set on it and so they keep floating probably brewing some more until it reaches the right temperature - BAM! Oh I forgot this is an art blog, I thought this was a cooking blog. Just kidding. It's just like that sometimes. I have put so many canvases on an oven that has not reached proper temperature and you know what? I wasted so many expensive large canvases - but I am now ready to salvage them. I am cookin'!

I love this picture. It is true, when the Muse gives you a great idea you have to just follow it.

Wonderful, artistic inspiration as a Freudian locomotive through the living room. This is one of my favorite pieces of yours.

the best part of creating: the idea that makes your whole body buzz. and then seeing the idea come to life. you've captured it visually beautifully!

oh Aimee! i so know what you talking about... been having a big idea, have been sketching, and can't wait to see where it takes me!
its nice here, slightly cloudy lovely autumn colours and i just made chocolate triffle (i make chocolate sponge cake, layer it with tons of yummy raspberries, make choc.mouse which goes on top it it and the finish the whole thing off with a good helping of whipped cream)
i suggest you come over for some and a cup of coffee - don't worry am in my pj's too so no need to dress up ;)

Hahahaha! Looks like the big idea struck while you were enjoying a nice cuppa! Lots of dynamic charge here! I've been languishing lately, waiting for the Big Idea to lift me up. Not a peep. She must be visiting you. Such a creative energy emanating from Artsyville that I'm sure the glow is visible from space. :)

Oh, this is great! Sometimes the big ideas come at you fast and before you know it, you've lost a few.

I have a very special award for you. It means a great deal to me, and I have the honor of making you one of its very first recipients.

Oh dear, I am waiting for my BIG idea to arrive (and have been waiting for quite some time). I feel quite drained of creativity ... an empty vessel ...I guess one should actually be doing something as opposed to just waiting, then maybe the idea will arrive sooner?!

yeah, that's the feeling, when the right idea (did i ever say 'big'?) arrives ::: it's a lovely feeling :)
