i ordered a print from francie, and she included this gorgeous felted and beaded bracelet. i want to eat it, but i won't.

a year ago i got hooked on painted fish studio when jen went on a rant about these 'stupid little pumpkins'. i reminded her of it a few weeks ago and she threatened to send me a bag of them if i didn't shut up. i didn't, so she did. despite her choice of packaging (look closely), these i WILL eat. or my kids will.

and this card appeared from my dear, sweet friend alix the other day. she and her little one were sick earlier this week, and before my inner critic could warn me that i might poison her, i made one of my Big Ass Burrito Bowls and took it to her house, along with a beer, of course. so she drew this awesome little recap of the scene, including my daughter hanging out the window in the driveway waiting for me.
thanks to your public support of my lazy beer and burrito phase. the doer has finally returned and has kept me busy most of the week. so to make up for my lack of blog visits, i'll do a little giveaway. tell me about an art surprise you've sent or received in the mail lately, and on monday i'll draw two names for a bundle of my groovy doodle magnets. you can have good words, bad words, or both! meanwhile i'll be off searching for the dreamer...

A giveaway! woohoo. My crafty mother sends me hand made goodies in the mail. Everything from home-sewn bags to coasters. She always has something artsy up her sleeve to send my way! I love it!
wheeeeeee! glad you got those barfy things. can you believe i had a hard time finding a small bag of them that fit into the packaging? do people really eat those by the truckload?! ick. anyway, glad you didn't poison alix, glad you're outta the slump.
have fun on with that pumpkin sugar rush!
(can you tell i just ate some good-n-plenties? the sugar in my system is making it hard for me to see, let alone type coherently. and off i go! whooooo!)
yipppeee.....i love me some doodle magnets.....and i'm hoping that i win the giveaway so that will be my surprise in the mail.....!! :))
OK, I burst out laughing when I saw that packaging...I needed that! You are too funny...hopefully our paths will cross one of these days and we can hang out!
oooh, I just got my very first handmade thank you card and it was beautiful! I could get into this gifting thing. I would ADORE to have some of your art - pick me!!!

Pick me! Pick me!!!
i just realized i only showed a few of the magnets in that other post. so for the curious, here is the updated list of my magnetized wares - i'll send the winners a sampling of these and will also put them in the shop next week:
avoid toxic people, let it go, no fucking way, be where you can bloom, vodka dear, it's a four cup morning, it's a four drink evening, i'm strong-i can do it, help me, i cannot believe i just ate that, fan fucking tastic, it's OK to say no, oh shit oh shit oh shit, almost there, focus focus focus, double damn it, stop look listen, oh my gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I don't really have a mail surprise -- other than my contributor copy of "Good Mail Day" which is now in stores and online! -- so I'll let someone else have my chance at the giveaway. But I had to comment on the magnetic beauties.
I covet the "no fucking way" one and "fan fucking tastic" but now that The Boy is reading, I'm pretty sure your fabulous colors would catch his inquisitive eye.
I need a barf bag for the candy corn that's sure to invade our house within hours.
I love giveaways and I love those salty/sassy doodle magnets. My oh-so-fabulous friend Cathy made a set of mini moo cards for me with artwork from my blog that arrived in the mail today. They are freaking adorable!!
Recently I included some super old "Come to a Bar-B-Que" invitations, w/ the purchases some buyers had made from my store. They were adorable:)
P.S. If I win, "Let it Go" will be front and center on my fridge!
Love it all. That bracelet is to SWOON for.
I gave the nurses in my OB's office a fun present that I had fun wrapping! Never really thought of wrapping as a creative activity before.

well first I love the red pants your "wearing" in the picture your friend painted. YOu look great in red.
I got a surprise a few days ago that I still need to post about. Three amazing cards from talented artist Lori Portka!
And, for the record, I LOVE those pumpkin sugar molds. yum.
I want! I want!
Aimee, glad you're out of your beer & buritto phase (although it sounds ok to me). I haven't had an art suprise in the post. I'd love one of your bad word magnets, it would make me laugh each time I reached for another beer!
i had a lovely art surprise in my mailbox today!from you, aimee:)a great surprise on a sunny day, so i don`t really need the magnets anymore and someone else will be very lucky to have them!
Do books I have ordered for myself count? :)
Thanks for the giveaway!

Just to say I loved the bracelet - and fascinated to get a glimpse of life 'across the pond' Halloween has never been such a big deal here, but it is growing!

Those Halloween candies look postively evil! The bracelet however is super sweet! I just love those magnets - had a good nose around your shop too - terrific stuff in there!!
I want to eat that adorable little bracelet. What a treat. Love your magnets, Pick me! I hate those stupid pumpkins too... and yet, I can't seem to stop eating them... the pumpkins made me do it!
Yes, gotta love good mail, as opposed to those pesky bills! Fun stuff Aimee!
yummy mail!!!
have a lovely weekend aimee ::)
You realize, if you eat that bracelet, you'll have to wash it down with a lot of beer. No wait! Stop, that was NOT meant to be an incentive! Fantastic things in the mail. Loads of fun! Bet the mailman pegs you as the most loved person in Lawrenceville. That is such a great card by Alix!
Well. I just received some beautifully drawn nuts in the mail drawn by Ces. They are breathtaking. :)
Hope you had a great time trick or treating with the girls tonight. And speaking of asses, guess what size mine is right now after scarfing down a tin of cookies!!!
Well I'm happy your doer came back, but seriously, who could ever criticize a burrito phase. I mean, you'd have to be a complete idiot to not like burritos. I had the perfect burrito for my Halloween evening... and I went to take pics of the kids before they left for Hollywood to do I don't even want to know what... and my dogs took off with my burrito and demolished it. They even dragged it out the doggie door and ate MY burrito in luxury on the grass. And no, not even watching It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown could make me feel better. So perhaps your Oh Shit Oh Shit Oh Shit magnet would be a great asset. Or maybe your Let It Go one.
So one of my blog readers won one of my 5x7 prints in my blog b-day giveaway, and she chose a print of my original artwork. I surprised her by sending her that print and the companion to that print as well. WELL, today she sent me a photo of my prints framed and hanging on her wall! I've never seen my prints framed before so it was a big MOMENT for me! It totally made my day :)
Thank you for reading my novel. I deserve those damn magnets - lol ;)
Meg xoxoxo
I received my property tax bill in the mail the other day!!!!!I am ecstatic about that. I would love to attach it to the fridge with one of your naughty magnets!(:
me, me, me, meeeeeeeee!
(too tired to leave a proper comment right now but... me, me, me, meeeeeeeee want!
more later ;)
What a wonderful surprise. The chain is gorgeous :-) And the bag hilarious.
Every time I have bought from sweet creative bloggers, there have been a little extra something in the envelope, and I always think there is hope for us afterall. People are just so sweet and giving.
It's always fun getting extra gifts in the mail from art orders. And that bracelet is fabulous :)
okay, I'm ready now (as I'll ever be).
unfortunately, I don't get many arty or home-made pressies in the post at all. boo hoo. I reckon the last one was a lovely little case covered in painted paper and filled with goodies (from organic tea and honey to a mad mini choccie umbrella) for my b-day in may.
oh, oh, but I need to tell you how pissed off I was (and I've committed myself not to moan, but this one deserves it) to hear from my mum they had only found a copy of a cd but not the card and necklace I had sent her for her b-day. WTF?? honestly. brrrr.
right, that's my (very valuable) input. do I win? thank you very much. :)
ahh, a giveaway :)
this young girl that helped me out with the twins just had a baby herself. she's the sweetest thing, this girl. i made her little baby boy a flag garland with old fabric pieces, and then i drew him a bear. i am in the middle of my first try on needle work, and before i began i was trying to draw the bear i wanted to make. i really liked those drawings and so, he got one :)
hope you found the dreamer.
bills bills & bills! but then your dish of yummy-get-better-food wouldn't have fit into my mailbox!
Did I tell you I got pneumonia? I'm SURE it had nothing to do with the meal!!! ; ) xoxo
i have sent a photo and art print to a friend in europe - still waiting for her to recieve it...
and i got some wonderful sunshine yellow handdyed wool from a fellow knitter from the US
oh i hope ill win!
happy weekend
xo
Treats received by post, yes, little compares. And a bracelet so sweet one feels like it could be nibbled upon. Beautiful treats for a lovely you. Enjoy 'em.
My reply will sound so "rigged"...but my fave surprise received was an extra doodleprint from YOU!! And, I'm hoping the antique artists journal and magnet were 2 surprises I've sent to you in the mail :) Have I mentioned how much I enjoy reading this blog?? ;) haha
Hahaha...how FUN! What a special treat--those kind of surprises make one's day!
Oh, oh, oh! It is still Monday here so can I play along? My most recent art surprise was when Sarah of Circles of Rain sent me a lovely hand-drawn post card of the cattle at Chillingham. And I've read about mail art recently and am now very excited about making (and sending) something!
The felted and beaded bracelet is absolutely stunning! In a crafty, sort of way. :)
