it was bound to happen: cleaning out the studio and getting rid of the goods meant an inevitable comparison to finding oneself in the clutter. plus i've been aching to use the word gremlin. my apologies for dragging you down such a dirty path of metaphors on this one, but the whole notion of soul searching rather begs for it, don't you think?

ah, i love your piece and you, aimee! it's like you're a gremlin in my own brain, lately. bring on the 'marauding rabble rousers' because it's not like we can permanently stop them from crashing our party. but, we can tell them to just pipe down or we'll call the cops (therapist/pharmacist/liquor store). enjoy your weekend! xo, c
love the colors!
i know all too well these gremlins. love your attitude. i feel better already:) happy weekend dear!
Thanks for the mention, sweetie! Greatly appreciated...as always, your blog inspires!
Oh I just love this Aimee. Fabulous. I'm all of a muddle trying to do some graffiti paper but it's not really working! Hell, it'll just be a messy collage I think!! xxx
... yes ... i too have been fighting both sorts of clutter ... i just didn't write about it so eloquently .... you certainly have a way with words ....
I love this piece! Especially the end, "oh what the hell, welcome to the fold". I laughed out loud. To me, it seems like when those nasty gremlins are not around (which is rare) it feels as though they are never coming back and thats usually when they jump up out of nowhere and slide tackle me! What a wonderful sentiment to just say, "oh alright be here if you want to be (since you're going to be anyway!)". How much freedom is there in that acceptance!
thank you for the lovely mention in the post too! I'm so very honored and excited!
i know i've told you before that you're an absolute genius, but i've changed my mind.....you're WAY beyond that, girl! i hope i see this in your etsy shop one day.....it's truly fabulous!! :)))
ha ha! this is coyote medicine, my sister. i love your soul-searching rabbles! welcome to the fold, indeed...xxxxx pixie
nice to know you ~........................................
no apology needed. at all. i am with you on this one :)
wishing you a good weekend
I love this piece! Happy Saturday :)
You have such a way, Aimee...and this is certainly no exception. Wonderful, as always!
Peace & Love,
~Barb~
Oh! This piece really really moved me. What great language! It's poetry! (wrapped in a most beautiful and vibrant visual medium). And I got to the end, and was thinking "Yes, yes, yes--welcome them into the fold!" I felt like cheering!
Oh the imagery in this piece is astounding!! I am right there with you.
I hope this one is in your Doodle Shop!
Yep, opening arms 'cause I don't think they'll go back in the box and I don't think I want them to really - gremlins keep it interesting don't they? Great piece Aimee!!!
AWESOME. I love the end- what the hell. :)
Lots of wickedly wonderful words in this inventive creation. Good grief, those gremlins invade at all of the wrong moments. Thx for a Saturday AM smile!
You're on a roll, dear friend! This is pure enjoyment. Thanks for the good laugh and immense wisdom.
i love how free you are with your words...gremlin, rehab, hole, etc...it seems as much as clutter caves in on you, art & sassy words save you! xo
Absolutely. What the hell. Whoopee cushions under our bossholes.
xoxo
Love your doodle and your brilliant writing!!
you wise woman. i am so there, as you know. hello, gremlins. whatchuwan?
I love the magic (including the magical gremlins) that exist within you...and the eloquence with which you write, draw, share them with us. This one needs to live in your shop for sure. What an inspiration you are
this definitely sounds reminiscent of when my home is somewhat peaceful and clean... and the scene that follows when the kids and all their friends (gremlins/marauding rabble rousers/whoopie cushion hiders) inevitably come home. the fun just never ends ;)
Oh yes - I can relate! I say welcome to the fold, all my faults & gremlins & quirks, because without you guys my personality would be on the thin side ...
ah, gremlins, beautiful creatures.
don't get 'em wet, though.
i'm missing you too.
oh, what the hell, write, paint, have fun! Love you Aimee!
Welcoming the gremlins to the fold seems like the best idea ever. They must be good for entertainment at least. You're brilliant!
I love this print, words, color, all of it! perfect.
Have a great day!
