the weather wimps canceled school for the second day, and i was no longer willing to stay in and play the snow day victim, so out we went to breakfast with our journals and a box of sharpies. artsygirl drew a house for butterflies and i re-lived on paper the horrid pantry purge of last weekend.
if you posted a handwritten list today, please leave your link in the comments. thanks and have a great day!

In tears, laughing so hard at:
Flax seed (wtf)
wheat germ " "
Omg Aimee, you make me laugh so hard tears run down my leg!!!!
honestly, what was i thinking? i scarcely know what those things are, let alone know what to do with them!
Love your pictures (anything with markers makes me excited !!)....I know I'd find a few "mystery items" in my pantry too!! Good for you for tackling that task!! Now it's time to RESTOCK!!
here's my list....way more boring!!
http://geeden.blogspot.com/2011/01/list-it-tuesdaybiographies.html
well actually in my case, i'v had those items at some healthy dieting juncture. then reality set in, it sat in the cupboard for 2 years and i too said, "flax seed, wtf"!!!
I didn't get a chance to do a list today as all my blogs at the moment are about the sketches in this neverending project!! I did one on Stonehenge today though. As for your list - I laughed out loud at the sort of stuff that remains hidden away in the pantry for so long - we threw out 2 jars of Marmite recently (horrible stuff) that were dated 2008!! So, I'm glad to see that you also have random and bizarre gems creating new life forms in your kitchen! BTW I wish I could write as beautifully as you!
i don't think we have marmite here - it sounds like some sort of artificial preservative or a pest killer!
*LOFE* your list Aimee! Oh, do I ever feel a big, big purge coming on! Thank you! LOL! :D
Here's my very non-glamorous list for today:

*LOFE*????? Oh brother............ :/
the comments are making me giggle over here. i want you to come draw my pantry and have some breakfast with me. i like how you do things.
Aimee, I LOVE this list. Makes me think about the 10 year-old caramel sheets buried somewhere in my pantry.
My list is here:

CARAMEL SHEETS! that's what i forgot. i knew there was something i was missing...that was it. they were like peanut brittle!
Pantry purges can be pretty scary indeed!
Here is my list for the week:

Mmmm. Well maybe if I purged the panty a little more often, we wouldn't have pantry months laying their little wormy babies in the corn meal. Oh and I have a jar of wheat germ myself. I cannot even imagine why I would have ever bought it, but the germ has met the same fate as the corn meal. They just announced that our schools are cancelled tomorrow, so I think having my girls clean the pantry is a fine idea to keep them busy.
great list! i need those markers! my husband purged the freezer, but not before we ingested some rather rank freezer burn!
i'm listing:

funny! glad you got out. we had a delay this morning then i had to go and pick up a yakking kid about an hour later.
love the mashed potato commentary!

off to writing retreat as of tomorrow!
Tee hee - I love it! We are on day one (expecting day two) of a snow day...*sigh*
I love the pantry purge items - seriously. We buy oodles of healthy things and end up eating the pop tarts.
Good luck staying sane in the snow!
It IS amazing how things can just bury themselves in our pantries and cupboards. I do a purge once in a while and ALWAYS think "WTF? HOW did we not use that?" :)
oh i´d love to see the house for butterflies!
reminds me of my nephew's purge of BB's refrigerator! {:-D
Here's my list:

now i'm afraid of doing a pantry purge...
I waited this time!! Here's my link: http://wp.me/pPQtT-4D Thanks Aimee!!
It is funny how we have a completely opposite view of the snow day! My head is not a weather wimp and I love the peace and quiet a snow day involves! Glad you got out an about, the cafe visit sounds like fun!
Snow days would be so much better without the snow.
Here's my list of cities my daughter and I are going to visit this fall.
Here is my list I took with me on my errands:

Oh-oh! Reading these comments is dangerous. Now I have to add "purge the pantry" and "purge the refrigerator" to my list of things to do!!!!
You guys all make me laugh. I considered a pantry purge this morning but then decided to procrastinate on it. I have flax seed and wheat germ and use them on an almost daily basis - I add a tbsp to cream of wheat or oatmeal. They add extra fiber, protein and vitamin e!
oh my gosh... it's almost identical to my latest pantry purge. lol.
Well this is my first List It Tuesday! Hope I did it right.

It really breaks my heart that your doodled list is so much more beautiful than a list I would labor over for 1,000 years ;)
And wheat germ... There was a period of 36 hours in which my husband decided he was going to start making artisan loaves of bread and got every supply and ingredient known to humankind in preparation. Of course, all the supplies from that "phase" are stocked up, gathering dust. So that made me laugh VERY hard because we definitely have some WTF Wheat Germ in our pantry, too.
Loved how you turned a horrendous chore into artsy fun! OI cringe at the what lurks at the back of my pantry (is it narrow and deep, so mysteries abound...)
I am sunk deep in many projects - but one ends soon and I hope that frees me up to make List it Tuesday a part of my week again!
My girl's recent creation of a house for her stuffed frog might be a good neighbor for a butterfly house.
My list is not handwritten, but it is the best I could do today. If I promise to hand-write next time, can I play anyway? ;)
Sharon
Howdy aimee,
I love your list today. I love your journal and I love that you showed all the sharpies used, too!
Here's my list for this week.

Peace,

Oh, how I wish the weather wimps were a bit more wimpier out my way - was totally expecting a snow day, but only got a measly delay. Oh well, it looks like you guys had a real nice time however! :)
My list can be found here:

I had to giggle about the flax seed. I force myself to use mine in the mornings but I think when I'm done with what I have it will be a while before I feel all ambitious and healthy enough to get more.
Hahaha! - flax seed and wheat germ - I am so with you.
LITTLE PEOPLE! OMG, I loved those when I was a kid! Please don't eat them.
O.K. Aimee, you know what's really scary? I have every one of those in my pantry except the liquified fruit roll! Does a half of a snack bag of freeze dried apples count?
i can barely get anything more in my pantry... how can two people accumulate so much stuff? i believe we have 3 bags of flour (who knew we would run out of time at the holidays & bake only half of what we planned to). i better hurry & rescue stuff before the bugs settle in!
no list this week... but your artsy list is amazing!
Heh. I love this. I'm in the middle of a pantry purge myself... So I relate. (I had the flax seed (WTF!) too! and cardboard crackers...
we're, ummm 'enjoying' a second snow day here too.
Little people? Ha!!
Your lists are so great. What a great idea. You have inspired me to make lists too :)
Come check the "list book". It is still lonely and awaiting some ...but there is a plan and a place for them. That's a start, right?

PS...I love flax O.o
Weather Wimps! Hahahaha. We had some of those in Philly last Wednesday. I told my kids 16,13, and 9 that they just got a gift from the gods. The roads were FINE.
P.S. I just purged my pantry 2 months ago and already its looks like a disaster zone again!
we used to have a pantry. a proper one when we lived up north. this post made me miss it :)) and what a lovely moleskine page!
What is it about the artists in us that just makes us happy looking at markers? How do you explain to a non-artistic friend that holding a paintbrush gives you a rush? Honestly, just looking at your blog makes me happy!
I found this via pinterest and had to follow the link as the flax seed had me giggling and the pens had me drooling. Why is stationary so amazing? I love the idea of a tuesday list so will snoop around a bit more. I may even doodle a list one one of my many notebooks.
