We chatted with Bob and Nathan, his videographer, for a bit about how and why he got started on his mission (read more about it here) and before we parted ways he gave us a delightful children's book he wrote about this cross-country adventure he's taking with his dog, Bogart. How lucky for us that they decided to make a pit stop in little Lawrence, Kansas on their way! And equally lucky for us, he parked the bus right next to Freddy's -- so it seemed only natural to head next door and top off the afternoon with a bowl of chocolate frozen custard. (Taking kids out for ice cream counts as an act of kindness, doesn't it?)

That is SO cool!!! Thank you for sharing! I would love to meet Bob and Bogart and see this bus! What a beautiful gesture. One kind gesture can certainly cause an amazing ripple effect of kind gestures.
That is TOO AWESOME...love it! What a work of art that bus is, and what an amazing commitment Bob has to his cause. Very inspiring!
Wow! That is fantastic!!!
Very, very cool. Come say hi and see what my daughter is doing to spread some love :)
I enjoyed reading all of the sentiments expressed ('Bogart Needs Biscuits' was a particular fave for its surreal nature), and agree with you completely, taking the kids for ice-cream counts as kind act.
Of course ice-cream for the kids is an act of kindness.
I actually think I sometimes need to show myself as much kindness as I show others :)
Cool bus! It is so like you to find coolness everywhere :)
I love this bus ! Stille it's exactly my own philosophy in life !

wow. bob. our lives really are
what we make of them.
***kind love to you*** xox
How neat!! I'm so glad you shared those photos, Aimee!!
Okay, reading this and seeing those photos made me cry a little, because the idea that one guy feels so very very strongly about kindness maybe means there are a lot of other people who feel *something* about how important kindness is. And that means there's hope.
This is an incredible mission he has chosen to take. What a great example of being the change we want to see.
what a fantastic sight- wowsers I love the whole concept of it. we should have more of these around us.
what a joy it would be if there was something like that here in N. Ireland - teaching people to love and end the hatred and suspicion.
I love it and Bogart is a cool name for a dog = a love it lots.
YES taking your kids out for treat is kindness! x
I've never heard of this before. So inspiring..so filled with hope!!!
I've seen the very same bus, Aimee! Right near Central Park and 77th! I like the idea of kindness making its way around the country (and world) and that we have this shared experience. And yes, I took some souvenir photos too. :)
now *that* is walking the talk...or rolling...
ice cream for kids definitely counts.
