Great saying! I totally agree. BTW - I made a ton of bleach painted "faux batik" gifts for Christmas this year, after seeing your blog post about it last summer. They turned out great! Thanks again for sharing such a great idea. I haven't blogged about it yet, but I have some pics at Flickr. Happy New Year, and Happy PPF!
I'll start... I don't clean on a predictable schedule, which would be boring and make me slightly resentful. Instead I wait until the scene is just unsettling enough that I tackle it with vigor and purpose. When all is restored, I'm happy and satisfied, and I don't let anyone touch anything for a week.
Yay Debbie! That's awesome -- let me know where your pics are on Flickr! I'd love to see them!
Ok Aimee you made me laugh out loud - our cleaning habits are quite similar. I have this one that I kept under wraps for a bit ...ya know didn't want anyone thinking I was a freak BUT one day when I shared it..well, it became a party trick favorite in grammar school! I can wiggle my ears ..yes that would be without using my hands to make them move and they are not like Dumbo sized ear they are just wee ones that like to shimmy and shake. I use them now to make cranky children giggle and focus so hard on trying to do it themselves they forget to cry for more chocolate!
Love this! For 2013, I resolved to keep my kitchen clean and tidy. I knew that resolving to keep the house this way was too much. Similarly, I will cook my family a healthy meal once a week. That's the best I can do!
Good words......totally agree...lolHappy PPF, Annette x
it's much better that way! Happy PPF and 2013 !
I love your style, Aimee. And especially your cleaning technique, which is the same as mine! Must be an artistic temperament thing.
A little quirk is good in all things!!
Quirk on I say... and we seem to keep to the same cleaning habits... though I spend a week afterwards throwing my hands up in the air and rolling my eyes at the grubs that I live with... and I do like to throw in the odd dinner at breakfast time to keep the troops on their toes... nothing like a stir fry and noodles to freak them out at 6am!!!
Love it, Aimee!! Well (and beautifully) put and painted!♥♥♥Happy PPF!!MaryMixed-Media Map Art
Absolutely love, love, LOVE this. A much better way to ring in the new year I think, focusing on the things that work (even if the're a little freakish) instead of the things that don't work. Something I have discovered since moving to Germany (or at least finally admitted to myself and others) is that I am SLOW in lots of ways. This may not seem like much, but it certainly makes me a freak in the land of the purposeful, orderly and punctual. I like to "float" through life, and I am finally ok with that. I feel much happier and peaceful when I'm not pressuring myself and stressed out about keeping up with others' expectations!Happy New Year!
brilliant, m'dear.XOX(miss you!)
Yup. Hope you had a swell time in NY. Happy PPF from across the pond.
such a wonderful piece and awesome lettering!
So very true. Made me think a little. Beautiful work. Happy PPF
LOVE this!! I'm always so happy to see your wonderful lettering style. great saying!Happy PPF
Realllly good advice dear heart.
haha this is so sweet. I have come to accept my quirkiness :)
Love this!Tracey, I do breakfast for dinner instead. (Stir fry at 6 am would so not work for me.)My quirks: I think the whole creative thing makes me do really quirky things that I don't realize are quirky until later. ;) But I would not change it! No way!
It's the quirk that makes it work...love it! What a great new slogan to adopt. And I also like the one commenter who said, "Quirk on!" I have always wished I was much quirkier than I am!
Well, that's a relief...no shortage of quirks here! Happy New Year!
