The glue stix were uber busy this week whipping up samples for my Colorful Cutout Cards class next month at The Ink Pad in NYC! This is the fourth workshop I've taught there this year and I can't say enough how much I love this shop and the staff. This class is taking me back to my handmade card roots: I was an assistant buyer of stationery for Neiman Marcus in the 90s, when the handcrafted card industry was just starting to take off, and I've had more of my own handmade card lines over the years than I can count. I always burn out sooner or later when I do handmade cards for sale, though, so now I just make them for fun :)
A bit about the class, in case you're local and would like to come, is Tuesday, November 19 from 7-9:30 p.m. at The Ink Pad, 37 Seventh Ave in Greenwich Village. Cost is $35 and all you'll need is a good pair of scissors and a glue stick -- I'll provide everything else. We'll make colorful pages with my handmade stamps, cut shapes and letters (both freehand and with my hand drawn templates), and play with the layers to create 5 different card designs for the holidays.
Back on Friday with Samie's gelli print class winner (you can still enter here for that), and I'll tip my hand here a bit for another giveaway I'm having next week! (hint: it involves a Xyron creative station...) I will give you all the details on that one next Tuesday!
