Happy Colorful Friday and Season's Doodlings from Artsyville! I'll be back in the next few days with the holiday shop fully stocked & open for action, but in the meantime, just wanted to share a Make Your Own Sale code that you are welcome to use any time (and as often as you'd like) from now through December 31! The code HAPPYHOLIDAYS13 will take 10% off your order in both stores: artsyville.etsy.com and www.artsyville.com. I will also have surprise doodle deals from time to time over the next few weeks (especially a surprise, considering that I don't even know what they are yet) and you are welcome to combine the Make Your Own Sale coupon code with those doodle deals if it makes sense. Happy weekend! Back soon!

Happy T-day! ♥ We are nibble-noshing the day away: cherry pie, mango-cranberry chutney, an enormous batch of latkes, other stuff, and eventually, a turkey (it always takes longer than the directions indicate.) I'll be back tomorrow with some fun happenings on Colorful Friday (no such thing as Black Friday around here). Wishing everyone a great day!

Sorry for the miss last week! Hope no one is too irate about it (though most people who come here are used to me posting on Aimee Time, which can be any time.) I needed some classic collage therapy last night, so I covered an old hand soap bottle with bits from the newly arrived Paper Source catalog, sealed it with three coats of Mod Podge, and paired it with my new little bar of soap that no one is allowed to open :) Will the bottle last? Or will it turn to papery, gluey goo? We shall see! What did you glue this week? Share below!

The closest thing I've come to gluing this week: a leaf sandwich.
I've been too busy watching nature's paintbrushes sweep the skies,
taking autumn walks around the neighborhood,
letting the sunshine in,
shaking out rugs,
making umbrella flowers,
Art Every Day Month (I will catch up I will catch up I will catch up),
enjoyed one of the last pretty autumn moons before the sky turned to a bag of dirty marshmallows,
I sent an order of my washi tapes and magnets to Frenzy Stamper in Old Town Scottsdale, AZ (hooray and thank you!!),
waved hi to New York (right now I am reading The Island at the Center of the World, a history of the Dutch colonization of Manhattan),
took a little trip to Mitsuwa, the largest Japanese supermarket in the US (can I say fantastic! couldn't get the kids out of the candy aisles),
It has been a crazy, unpredictable, surprising, upside down, messy and very flavorful adventure. Just like these ice cream cones.

Well, that didn't take long, did it? I fell off the AEDM wagon pretty quickly. Not that I wasn't making stuff, but I couldn't manage to get here to post it. And I completely forgot about Glue it Tuesday this week. I'm sorry. The older I get, the more one-track-minded I get, and my mind was stuck, so to speak, solely on magnets this week. I did manage to whip up some new colorful packaging for the magnets so they are totally gift-ready now, and they make great stocking stuffers. There are lots of new words in this batch, so if you already have some, these will add some expanded flavor to your collection. There are 20 packs in the Etsy shop, where you can see each assortment individually, and 5 packs in the Artsyville store, which are randomly selected surprises. Sorry again about Glue it Tuesday... we will catch up again on the 12th! Happy weekend! Aimee

Today I'm pushing through the Halloween Hangover and indulging in a spell of hand lettering; this is one of my favorite creative activities but it is not a quick process, not something I can force or rush. It is a slow, laborious effort; one line of words can take me up to 20 minutes and sometimes more. If I'm in the right mood, it becomes a meditative activity, a reminder to slow down and enjoy shaping each line into a letterform. Once they are finished I'll scan & turn them into colorful batches of Magic Word Magnets.
If you are new to Art Every Day Month, go see Leah at Creative Every Day and she will tell you all about it. She's an encouraging, motivating, and easygoing creative hostess, and will give you just the nudge you need to make a little something every day this month.
