it's a really, really, really long preview tour of the 2016 Artsyville Holiday Shop (get hot chocolate, or some kind of drink, and a chair!)

It's the most colorful time of the year! Should you be in need of an Artsyville fix, one is coming your way Monday when the shop doors open once again! Confetti and ink and paper and paint and yarn have been flying around the Art Pit (my new name for the art studio) for the past month making goodies to stuff in the shop.

Ready for the sale codes? They are:
FIVEBUCKS for $5 off a purchase of $30 or more
TENBUCKS for $10 off a purchase of $50 or more
THIRTYBUCKS for $30 off a purchase of $100 or more

Want a tour of the new stuff? There's a lot, so come on in, have a seat, grab a cup of hot chocolate and  read on...

Fill in the Blank Easel Cards -- I'm so excited about these little easels. I originally made them for my kids and we had such a blast filling them in that I decided to make packs of them for the shop. They are the size of ATCs; simple, low key and not intimidating. Just simple invitations to create a little something every day.

New stack pack designs -- ten of them! Why did I not have a stack pack design with an all purpose gift on it before this? I've fixed that, and now we have All Wrapped Up.

Ditto for Birthday Cakes.

Bike Ride was inspired by an enormous, clunky, adorable purple beach cruiser that I used to get around the Jersey Shore for two weeks this summer.

This one reminds me of a little sprite I know who will try anything, take on any challenge, and sees no barriers. She just flies. Fly Birdie Fly.

Groovy Daisy is for those who walk the flower power path...

And Instant Garden is for everyone, including those who love gardens but can't keep one alive. These need no water.

Who couldn't use a little Love Mail?

Or a good old fashioned Paper Airplane?

Or a little Peace of Mind?

And if all else fails, we always have the Sunrise (and sunset).

All of the other stack pack designs from last year will be back, including a limited number of Christmas Tree & Ornaments. These are the perfect size for To/From tags.

Now we're on to Permission Tickets... remember these? I have two new sets with fresh designs to accompany the original mix.

Mix 2 has a smattering of designs from the original mix (I shuffled things around a bit) but most of these are fresh from the drawing table. Aside from an Eyeroll at the Universe, there are lots of uplifting and motivational tickets in this pack.

Mix 3 is my personal favorite because they are all creativity themed! Not that creative people need or wait for permission to do anything, of course, but these do act as a convenient nudge or prod into a change of thinking or doing.

Next up... Mini Magic Word Tiles! These are the tiny square prints (1 1/4"ish) that are super versatile little things. You can use them for creative prompts, daily mantras, bookmarks, lunch box notes, motivators, whatever you wish. Mixes 1, 2 and 3 were the sleeper hits of the last two holiday shops. They'll be back, along with a few new ones:

Mix 4 (above) is a delightful new random jumble of words;

The Motivation Mix will keep you and your resolutions company in the new year;

and the Travel Mix will make a good companion on your adventures.

Now things take an interesting turn. I've been obsessed with crocheting for a long time, but I've gotten exceptionally fixated lately on making little wrist cuffs that I call Wrist Toasters because that is exactly what they do, and they give the wrist a nice kick of color to boot. Before I realized it I had more Wrist Toasters than I knew what to do with, so I decided to put them in the shop & see what happens. Before I could do that, though, I had to solve a dilemma: how was I going to keep track of which one was which? The solution was obvious: to name each one after an 80s song. I've never had so much fun listing items in the shop. It has been one gloriously long eighties songfest around here. Even my husband said he can't get his work done because he can't get my playlist out of his mind.

The toasters are sized from XS to XL, and each of the individual listings will have a measurement guide to make sure you get the right fit.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Blue Jean (David Bowie)

Karma Chameleon (Culture Club)

Love Shack (B52s)

Pretty in Pink (Psychedelic Furs)

Purple Rain (Prince)

The Promise (When in Rome)

The Tide is High (Blondie)

True Colors (Cyndi Lauper)

Closing out now with two familiar friends:

It wouldn't be a new year in Artsyville without the 2017 Follow the Full Moons calendar. We all need to know when those full moons will be so we can blame our bad moods accordingly. This year I only have 8x10 prints -- sorry, no magnets! The calendars make great gifts, so if you envision yourself needing more than one, I recommend going for the five pack option -- the print price goes down from $16 to $10 each.)

And finally...

The Flipside Calendar is back for 2017! It's 5''x7" with the year at a glance on the reverse, and laminated on both sides. Handy, colorful, durable and portable.

If you made it to the end, yay you! Thanks for your dedication and perseverance. If you choose to shop in Artsyville this holiday season, thank you for supporting my small business and for bringing my artwork into your home. Big hugs, and I will be back here soon dusting off my rusty writing chops. (Sooner than you might think.)
